First the typically adversarial and brilliant journalists at the Intercept run a series of friendly interviews with Jay and the prosecutor allowing them to double down on their stories (even as they contradict themselves and each other). The tone and editorializing provide a clear subtext of inexplicable hostility toward Serial. Next The Blaze of all places – the Glenn Beck publication that is not famous for journalism – lands an interview with Asia McClain in which she reiterates her alibi for Adnan. What’s going on here?
